Soccer World Cup 2010 South Africa

Soccer World Cup 2010 South Africa

31 Days until the Soccer World Cup 2010 South Africa (11 June 2010)!
2010 South African Soccer World Cup
The 19th Soccer World Cup will be held in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July 2010.
For Africa this will be an event of huge proportions and will be the perfect platform to show the world how to combine sincerity, passion, fun and sports.
The championship will be held in 10 different stadiums of which 5 are being built from scratch and the others restored.
The design and structure of the existing stadiums have been suitable up to now, but will not suffice for the 2010 Soccer World Cup. Particularly the communications systems (i.e. sound and big screen) need to be updated on a large scale. This entails the placement of kilometers of cables and countless man-hours to ensure worldwide coverage. Additional considerations such as floodlights for night matches all need to be of the very highest standards. Approximately 800 million Euros are being delved into the various stadiums alone! This will be a significant challenge and an even greater honour to all those involved!
The Brazilian Carlos Alberto Parreira was initially selected as coach, but in April 2008, after 2 years of service, he resigned his position. Joel Santana took up the reigns shortly after.

As in Germany in the 2006 Soccer World Cup, the country's people will be unified and the sound of the Zulu cry 'Bafana Bafana' will echo throughout the stadiums as the South African team supporters encourage and push their team towards a win. Stadiums will be packed with various supporters wearing their team colours - not an easy task as the temperatures between June and August can range between 13 and 25 degrees Celsius. The 'onion method' applies best here - wear various layers and strip down as the heat is turned up!
Safety and security is a major concern and one that the media has over-exaggerated to a very large extent. As in all countries crime is an existing factor, but only if proper caution isn't used. Tourists are encouraged to be aware of their surrounds and not to carry valuable items in view of others.

World Cup Betting
Lock valuables in the boot of your car and hold on to bags. Also do not walk the streets alone at night. With a little awareness and care tourists can have an unforgettable visit in this beautiful country.
